It is award winning. It is used by Fortune 500 companies. It is very flexible and can operate anything from basic company brochure websites to large news websites, to complex ecommerce and booking systems. The range is endless - obviously it depends on your needs and budget.

Well, when you take a great CMS like Umbraco as a starting point and mix in 20+ years of marketing experience, you get a website CMS that ticks all the boxes.
For years, I worked with clients all across the world helping them market their company products and services. And for most, their website drove me (and them) to despair.
To maximise every penny we spent on their marketing campaigns, I wanted their website to convert as many visitors into customers as it could.

None of them offered a blog as standard (this was an additional cost), none offered integration with Campaign Monitor, only one offered MailChimp integration, none offered integration with ActiveCampaign (a fantastic marketing automation system and CRM) and none offered LiveChat as standard.
None gave any focus on marketing. Unbelievable. What good is a website if you can't find it on search engines.
What is more, two of them restricted your websites growth by giving you fixed templates. If you want flexibility and more pages in the future, then that is an extra cost.

None of them could offer security to match our CMS. They all said they provided SSL (which should be standard anyhow). When we asked about additional layers of security to protect our website, our customer details and fend off GDPR, you won't believe this, they said they focus on how the website looks.
In our opinion, it won't look good if your website gets hacked.
That is why we use independent security software to scan our websites every 3 months.
The cost....
